About us
“Necessity is the mother of invention.”
Chronicle represents the culmination of decades of infrastructure development across Toogood and Convexus—firms established not as ventures, but as responses to unmet institutional needs.
Convexus followed in 2007, purpose-built to administer fund structures too complex for conventional providers. From these origins, capabilities expanded—each new function developed to address a specific operational barrier encountered by real managers in real markets.
2007
Toogood began in 1997 to modernize portfolio management for investment professionals constrained by legacy systems.
1997
Over time, a cohesive platform emerged: deeply integrated, quietly powerful, and engineered for scale. The Chronicle name now stands for this unified foundation. It reflects a history of practical innovation—one in which technology was not built for its own sake, but in service of investment managers demanding better tools, greater precision, and lower friction.
Now
Chronicle exists because the problems were real—and solving them required more than intention. It required architecture.
